
About the Principal
Karen Lucas graduated Summa Cum Laude with majors in Accounting and Management. She is a CPA, CMA (Certified Management Accountant), and CFM (Certified Financial Manager). She is also a QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor and a Notary Public.
Karen has worked in many different industries including wholesale, retail, distribution, commercial and residential construction, franchising, and textiles. She has held many roles in the accounting realm including Controller, Director of Finance, and Director of Financial Reporting and Analysis. She worked in accounting departments as the sole member and has also led teams of up to 20.
Working in the franchise industry for 15+ years, she has had the opportunity to work with many small businesses during the startup phase assisting the setup of the accounting and financial records, setting benchmarks and analyzing the successes and potential opportunities to help a business grow.
She also worked in larger companies with up to 300 million in sales. She was instrumental in setting up accounting systems
and processes in several different businesses, sometimes where no records were available and/or no continuity of accounting professionals.
She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a member of the Institute of Management Accountants.
Her 35+ years in accounting and management, along with her education and certifications make her uniquely qualified to assist any business (large or small) at any time during its life cycle.
In addition to the services listed, she can provide interim controllerships; temporary AP/AR work; assist seniors with financial matters; bookkeeping training, and notary services.
